You know you need to reconnect with your parter when...

The other night both Ben and I were bathing Julius and having a lovely conversation the two of us while doing so.  Julius, happily playing in the water and seemingly oblivious to our discussion, paused for a moment, looked at both of us, and said with a big smile "mama and daddy talking!" As if it were a noteworthy occurrence.  Which is kind of is.  I mean, we talk plenty but with two little ones (and a needy labradoodle), a lengthy, calm, enjoyable conversation between the two of us is, let's face it, few and far between.  Darn those perceptive toddlers.  Nothing gets past 'em.
