Non Sequitur du Jour

Most odd statement made to me by a patient or family member so far today:

Background: The patient is a 30 something woman here for prenatal care with her husband. We are in the midst of discussing their preparedness for their forthcoming new child. Pleasantries are exchanged, smiles all around, joy is palpable in the exam room.

In the midst of the conversation:
Husband to me: "You have fangs!" (This actually was said in English so I can't blame this oddity on interpretation gone awry.)
Me: "Fangs?"
Husband: "Fangs!"

Smooth transition back to discussing their prenatal care with no other comments or references made to my teeth or their resemblance or not to those of a vampire's.
